L’Anatomia Patologica è disciplina essenziale per il completamento della formazione nelle scienze mediche e rappresenta il punto di transizione tra l’apprendimento delle discipline “di base” e quelle “cliniche”. Più di recente, lo scenario di diagnosi e cura delle malattie si è ampliato di molto in ragione, soprattutto, di nuove acquisizioni sui meccanismi genetici che regolano la genesi e la progressione delle stesse e sulle possibilità di intervento curativo selettivo, sicché all’interpretazione morfologica e fenotipica delle lesioni deve oggi necessariamente essere affiancata quella prognostica e predittiva, nell’ottica di poter ambire a una “Medicina di Precisione” che consenta massima efficacia per il maggior numero di pazienti con il minimo necessario. Questo è l’obiettivo di questo nuovo manuale di Anatomia Patologica che affianca, al testo stampato, una ricca iconografia disponibile anche via web e, auspicabilmente, avvicina ancor di più la conoscenza teorica e funzionale delle malattie nel loro divenire all’esperienza pratica clinica.
